Save the dates and back by popular demand! Our SOCT SHRM HR Professional Development Summit & Law Symposium!

August 9th & 10th at UCONN Stamford

A Call for Presenters

Deadline for Submission: Monday June 12th!

On Wednesday and Thursday August 9th and 10th, the Southern Connecticut Chapter of SHRM will host our HR Professional Development Summit & Law Symposium at UCONN’s Stamford Campus. The two-day summit is expected to attract HR practitioners at all levels throughout the Fairfield County area.

Day one will focus on emerging trends and ideas, best practices and relevant approaches in human resource management. Day two of the conference will focus exclusively on workplace law and will be conducted by Jackson Lewis.

You’re invited to share your organization’s experience and expertise by submitting one proposal for a session on day one of the Summit. We are looking for presentations of one hour in length from consultants, academics and other subject matter experts that discuss strategic-level viewpoints and perspectives, as well as practical, immediately transferrable tools and techniques in any of the five knowledge areas listed at the end of this information sheet.

Proposals are due to the Southern Connecticut Chapter by Monday June 12th!  Members of the summit planning committee will review all submissions and make the final selections. Presenters will be notified via e-mail no later than June 22nd regarding their selection. We expect all those chosen to:

  • Meet all deadlines
  • Retain the session content as originally submitted in the proposal
  • Design a high-quality PowerPoint presentation and provide hardcopy to session attendees. SOCT will not reproduce any handouts.
  • Recognize that the presentation is an opportunity to share information and not a showcase for the promotion of their practice, services or products
  • Acknowledge that they are available to speak during any time frame on August 9th and, if selected, will not request a change to the session time assigned

Please note that we do not offer honorariums or reimburse speaker expenses!

Thank you for your consideration and support for our event. Please send all applications and questions to, SOCT2023Summit@gmail.com@gmail.com
