A group of college students who meet regularly to gain career exposure, information and experience as they consider entering the field of human resources. Formally chartered with the local Society for Human Resource Management chapter, a Student Chapter includes officers and relies on guidance from faculty advisors.
Students who have chosen HR as a career focus and those who simply want to explore and learn more are welcome. Chapter members participate in activities on and off campus and learn from active professionals what it is like to work in Human Resources. Currently a Student Chapter affiliated with the SOCT SHRM organization is based at Fairfield University and sponsored by the University's Business School Management Club. Students at other southern Connecticut colleges and universities are encouraged to form a chapter.
