We have also added a number of enhancements, such as:

  1.   The new page for TODAY'S SHRM NEWS listed at the end of our menu bar on the home page. Click on it to access National SHRM's latest news articles, automatically updated by the SHRM RSS feed, on the following five topics:

• HR News
• Recruiting and Staffing  
• Compensation & Benefits  
• Global HR  
• Diversity 
• Employment Laws and Regulations 

Remember to bookmark this page and visit often to read the last news and keep abreast of current issues affecting Human Resources.

  2.   Our 2010 Calendar of Events is now posted.  Don’t forget to review it so  you don’t miss any of our great programs --all with our members in mind!

  3.   As you know, our “HR People of the Year” Awards Dinner was a smashing success!  Representing companies throughout Fairfield County, over 260 individuals attended to honor nominees and award recipients.  Have you taken the time to view our Photo Album from that evening posted on the website? There is a link to it on our home page with dozens of pictures.  Perhaps you are there!  Take a peek.

  4.   Other links on our home page include:  our 2010 Program Guide (Don’t forget to update your calendar!); the chapter’s latest newsletter and a membership renewal link.

  5.   Our Links page provides connections to valuable HR resources; explore what the SHRM Foundation has to offer in their Effective Practice Guideline Series and available videos and don’t forget the SHRM Foundation Scholarships.  Did you know that again the SHRM Foundation will award a total of $100,000 again this coming year in scholarships for SHRM members pursuing degrees in HR-related fields or SPHR, GPHR, PHR or California certifications?  A leading funder of HR research grants, the SHRM Foundation produces publications and educational resources to advance the HR profession. Their work is made possible by your generous tax-deductible donations.  Remember to support the SHRM Foundation!  

And just for our members:

• Don’t forget, as a member, you have access to our Members Only section by logging in.  (You need to log in to this section with your unique password.)  Members Only pages include access to our complete Membership Directory of over 500 members.  Our members represent every area of Human Resource specialties in Fairfield County and beyond. You can search and view member profiles and network with each other!  You can also create reports. Nowhere else can you do this!
• Forgot your password?  As a member, you created a profile.  Go to the log-in area on the home page.  Enter your user ID (first initial, last name); click forgot your password. It will be sent to your email address.  If you have any trouble, just contact our Chapter Administrator:  ChapterAdministrator@soctshrm.org
• Members can also communicate with each other on line by using our new Chapter Chatter Bulletin Board.  Post messages to colleagues, ask questions and share information under our HR Topics area.  We also have an In-Transition section for those interested in new opportunities.  Here you can exchange information about leads, ask for help and seek advice. The possibilities are up to you.  Connect with your fellow members in Fairfield County!   It’s where HR Professionals find HR Professionals. Visit often!
