CPa Medical Billing and Consulting is a 3rd party medical billing company with a staff of 44 employees that operates the “back office” services for clients that range from small doctor offices to large multi-specialty clinics and health centers. The company is privately owned, and the work environment is a quiet setting.
CPa Medical Billing &amp; Consulting has one office which is in Branford, CT - about 1 mile off exit 55/I-95.
Reporting to the COO, this part-time position requiring approx 25 hours per week will be the sole provider of HR services to CPa Medical Billing with delivery of key HR programs and services including talent review, talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, engagement/retention strategies, and various change initiatives.
Work closely with management to identify and provide solutions on how to improve HR operations benefiting both individual and departmental needs.
Facilitate communications throughout the organization and employ regular consistent communication methods to ensure transparency and “openness.
Perform direct recruiting as well as partner with recruiting agencies to ensure all roles are filled and all new hires are on-boarded.
Communicate with department managers to clarify recruitment needs.
Once hires start dates are established, facilitate smooth on-boarding process which includes a thorough orientation.
Performance Management/Employee Development
Partner with COO to develop processes and programs to improve organizational capability in areas of goal alignment, performance management &amp; accountability, leadership &amp; career development.
Performance Appraisal Administration (review and approve all).
Work with department leads to identify required competencies to meet expectations of any given position.
Identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps to develop and implement targeted programs that address these gaps.
Coordinate learning and development initiatives in partnership with mangers and COO.
Coach and counsel managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues.
Participate in employee investigations as needed; document issues and consult legal advisors (when needed) to identify recommendations and avoid costly litigation.
Work to maintain and expand positive employee relations with employees.
Steward of the CPaMB employment policies/handbook; all local and federal laws.
Maintain compliant employee personnel files.
Implement HR information system roll-outs.
Ensure HR administrative and compliance requirements are met.
Formulate or improve policies and procedures for mobility, onboarding, talent review, orientation and benefit enrollment/participation.
Evaluate and modify current practices to align with or create best practices.
Partner with the team in the ongoing internship program, career, diversity fairs and employee social events.
Payroll / Benefits:
Review and approve bi-weekly payroll.
Main contact for all employee benefit related questions including enrollment and changes.
At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources
Minimum of a BS or related degree preferably in Organizational Development and/or Human Resources
HR certifications preferred (PHR or SPHR)
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Strong problem-solving skills and detail oriented
Self-motivator, takes initiative to resolve situations and improve departmental processes.
Well-developed interpersonal and negotiating skills, especially in dealing with sensitive and/or controversial issues
Ability and willingness to problem solve, prioritize, negotiate and juggle changing deadlines
Knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs and HRIS systems
